Parliamentary Finance Committee said Tuesday, Iraq does not need any external loans to pay off the shortfall in the state budget for the current year, noting that the public debt of the country exceeded $ 111 billion.
He said committee member Magda Tamimi said that “Iraq does not need any new foreign loans in the event of ending the financial and administrative corruption and the withdrawal of large whales, which controls on imports of customs and smuggling of oil, taxes and other government revenues as well as financial waste in the budget hand.”
Tamimi said that “the total foreign debt exceeded $ 111 billion last year, including about 41 billion debt of the former regime of the Gulf.”
