7-2-2015 Newshound Guru Enorrste The plan, as I understand it, is to issue the large 50000 and 100000 notes in order to do two things: reduce the demand for the dollar within Iraq and allow for a reduction in the money supply. If the first does not happen, then the second cannot happen. Without a reduction in the money supply the value of the dinar will not rise. Actually, to put it more accurately, unless there is upward pressure on the dinar value the money supply cannot be reduced. Therefore, if the introduction of the large notes does not stem the demand for dollars then there will be no way to wean the country off of dollars and back to the dinar. Without more upward pressure on the dinar, the longer term plan is in jeopardy. Read more…
