Because it was a devaluation by 23%. Here they cannot tell you it’s going to revalue. They can’t…Adding zeros means their inflation is high, elevated, maybe hyperinflation and that’s why they’re adding zeros. If they were adding zeros it would be going down in value…Removing zeros means it’s going up in value…They can tell you if they’re going to bring the value down or devalue it but they cannot tell you they’re going to increase the value. 9-5-2026 Newshound/Intel Guru Mnt Goat I…want to point out the convergence of events that is about to happen. We will get peace in the middle east, Iran’s influence in Iraq will end, the IQD will be on FOREX, accession to the WTO, and we will be going to the bank. The only issue we don’t know for certain is the timing of it all. For us we must watch the timing of the removing the zeros. This will be the movement we need to see. There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY the IQD could EVER go back to FOREX at a rate to attract investors at 1/6 of a penny so it will have to be at least over the 1990 pre-war days of $3.22. Iraq MUST FIRST REMOVE THE ZEROS thus swap out them out for the newer lower denominations. The Central Bank of Iraq denied on Saturday reports circulating about raising the exchange rate of the US dollar against the Iraqi dinar.
In a statement to Al-Maalomah News Agency, the bank said, “The reports suggesting a move to raise the dollar exchange rate are baseless,” emphasizing that “no decision has been issued in this regard.”

All of us are pretty much of the same opinion that Iraq is going to revalue their currency. We might not agree on the rate. Redomination refers to just chopping off the three zeros – a 25,000 dinar note you would chop off the three zeros so it is worth about 25. It would be a neutral event if they redenominate the currency. Sometimes it’s referred to as a lop. They lop the 3 zeros. We don’t make any money…Iraq’s inflation rate is…3%. Kuwait’s inflation rate is about 2.5%…If Iraq’s inflation was out of control, redenomination would probably be the likely way of it going. If they never intended to revalue the currency, if they were just going to cut the 3 zeros off…they could have done that easily over the last 23 years. They haven’t. There’s a reason for it. Data from the Central Bank of Iraq on Monday showed that Iraq’s foreign reserves fell to $86.175 billion at the end of June 2026, a decrease of $11.257 billion, or 11.6%, compared to the end of 2025, when they stood at $97.432 billion.
