The Swiss Foreign Ministry confirmed on Thursday that preliminary talks between the United States and Iran will be held at the Bürgenstock mountain resort on Friday , following the signing of a ceasefire agreement between Tehran and Washington .
The ministry said in a statement, reported by Reuters, that “as of now, the plan is still to hold a meeting between the United States and Iran, along with mediators Pakistan and Qatar and other concerned countries , tomorrow in Bürgenstock to conduct preliminary negotiations on the implementation of the agreement .”
The Swiss Foreign Ministry added : ” No further information is currently available regarding the agenda and details of this meeting.”
On Wednesday evening, US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian remotely signed a memorandum of understanding under which Tehran commits to reducing the level of uranium enrichment as part of future negotiations, in exchange for the lifting of US sanctions.
