Supreme Judicial Council: The amount of money seized in the Al-Jumaili case has risen to (127) billion dinars and (24) million dollars

The Supreme Judicial Council announced on Monday the seizure of 25 billion Iraqi dinars in the case of the Deputy Minister of Oil for Liquidation Affairs. The Council stated in a statement published by the official agency that “the investigating judge of the Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court explained the seizure of (25) billion Iraqi dinars, in addition to the seizure of an amount of (one million dollars), along with the seizure of gold jewelry estimated at about (5) kilograms in the case of the detained Deputy Minister of Oil for Liquidation Affairs, Adnan Al-Jumaili, and the parties involved with him.”
The judge added that “as a result of the careful follow-up to seize the financial proceeds resulting from the waste in the projects implemented by the accused and the parties to the case, these sums were seized, which were placed in plastic water bottles and hidden inside the accused’s house in the city of Tikrit.”
He also pointed out that “the total amount of money seized has increased to (127) billion dinars and (24) million dollars, in addition to the real estate, vehicles that were seized and the gold jewelry that was seized,” stressing that “the investigations and pursuit of the other involved parties are continuing until all legal procedures are completed.”
