Fadi Al-Shammari, political advisor to Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, ruled out the continued rise in the exchange rate of the dollar against the dinar.
Al-Shammari said in a press statement, “The dollar will not continue to rise continuously and the state is working to strengthen the dinar, and within a short period the dinar will be stronger and we will witness the collapse of the black market,” he said.
He pointed out, “The government is determined to hold local elections, which must be in a safe and stable environment. The government will not allow obstruction of the elections and nothing is above the state.”
Al-Shammari said, “The Sadrist movement’s fans are disciplined and follow the guidance, and Mr. Muqtada al-Sadr is aware and remembers the Iraqi reality and is keen on the unity and security of the state.”
He added, “The Coordination Framework and the Prime Minister called on the Sunni political forces not to be the speaker of the next parliament (Decor).”
Al-Shammari expected that the House of Representatives session to elect the Speaker of Parliament would be held “on Saturday or Sunday of next week.”
He pointed out that “there are ongoing negotiations with the American side that began months ago regarding the American presence in Iraq, and many understandings were reached about air and ground cover in Iraq and the nature of the American presence, leading to the formation of a committee that sets the deadline for the withdrawal of American advisors.”
Al-Shammari confirmed, “The Iraqi government rejected the American arguments after it targeted the Popular Mobilization Forces” in Jurf al-Nasr, north of Babylon, last week.
He stressed that “the Sudanese government will fulfill its obligations regarding exposing the killers of the demonstrators and punishing them,” noting that “the government has formed the Diwani Order Committee, which was announced weeks ago, which will work to hold the perpetrators accountable, address the legal status of the martyrs of the demonstrations, and close the door on traffickers in this file.”
