American soldiers in IraqEarth News/ State of Law member, Jassim Muhammad Jaafar, confirmed today, Tuesday, that we are in favor of removing ground forces and combat forces from Iraq, but we respect the government’s decision when it deems that their stay for a certain period is necessary due to the resolution of the battle with ISIS.

Jaafar said in an exclusive interview with Earth News, “Removing the American and coalition forces from Iraq is purely a governmental matter, because according to the agreement, it is the exit of the forces after the events of ISIS, and these forces returned at the request of the government, and their removal must be done through the government.”

He added, “It is not correct for us to enter Parliament or involve the masses in this issue because it affects the relationship between the components, as happened in the Parliament issue. We saw that the Kurdish brothers spoke frankly, and the Sunnis as well, showed a kind of shame in not standing clearly against the removal of the forces.”

Jaafar explained, “We are in favor of removing ground forces and combat forces from Iraq, but we respect the government’s decision when it deems that their stay for a certain period is necessary due to the resolution of the battle with ISIS and some tense areas or with control of the skies of Iraq due to Iraq’s weak capabilities or the need for training.”

He pointed out, “All of these issues relate to the government. We respect its decision, but we support the exit of these forces as soon as possible.”
