A member of the State of Law coalition, Saad Al-Muttalabi, revealed today, Tuesday, that the issue of deciding the position of Speaker of Parliament will be postponed until after the legislative recess.
Al-Muttalabi said in a statement to the Maalouma Agency, “The Sunni disputes after Saturday’s incident have become more complex and their solution has become more difficult,” noting that “the Sunni blocs have not agreed on a single candidate, and Al-Mandalawi will continue to head the council until the end of the legislative session or until they agree on a compromise candidate.” .
He continued, “The coordination framework and the state of law had a clear position on the decision issue, and directed the Sunni blocs to expedite holding an election session,” pointing out that even if the representatives of the framework collected fifty signatures, the Sunni blocs would not agree at the present time.
It is noteworthy that the legislative term will end on the ninth of the sixth month and the start of the legislative recess, which means that failure to resolve the file in the next 14 days will be postponed until after the legislative recess.
