State of Law reveals the formation of a committee to activate Article 140BAGHDAD: Sumer News MP of the coalition of state law, Abdel-Elah al-Naeli, on Sunday, that the House of Representatives formed the Article 140 committee membership of all blocks and political components, noting that the Committee will work with the government to revive. He said al-Naeli that “Article 140 constitutional, and include all the provinces, but the previous government neglected the article,” noting that “the current parliamentary session decided to revive Article 140, and allocated funds within the budget to compensate the affected.” He pointed out that “the House of Representatives formed a representative committee of all blocs and political components without choosing a president,” noting that “the Committee will examine the obstacles to the activation of Article 140 and its procedures.” He added that “the parliamentary committee will work to activate this article and resolve,” noting that “the main obstacle to the implementation of the disputed areas, but the government’s actions are weak, not the required level.” He said that “the Kurdistan region is trying to impede the activation of the article,” noting that “the Committee will coordinate with the government side to reach common solutions.” It is noteworthy that the Kurdish parties have been insisting since the adoption of the Constitution in 2005 on the implementation of the article, to resolve the disputed areas in favor of the Kurdistan region, while the article in its current form rejected by Arab and Turkmen and other minorities.
