Shafaq News/ The Ministry of Planning announced, on Monday, that it had set the first of next July as the final date for the entry of products that do not bear the “Iraqi Quality” mark, calling on manufacturers and suppliers to obtain them.
The Ministry’s media office said, in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, “The Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control, one of the formations of the Ministry of Planning, called on companies that manufacture electrical products and cigarettes supplied to Iraq to obtain the Iraqi Quality Mark for their supplied products.”
He added, “This decision came based on the decision of the Ministerial Council for the Economy,” explaining that “the products included household electric storage water heaters, in addition to room heaters, as well as electric cooling devices (refrigerator, freezer), as well as air conditioners, electric ovens, and cigarettes.”
He stated that “the last date on which the above products are allowed to enter Iraq, which do not bear the Iraqi quality mark, is the first of next July 2024,” noting that “the competent regulatory authorities will take legal measures against those who violate this decision.”
