Said Falah al – Amiri , Director General of the company and the representative of Iraq in the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries [OPEC] on the sidelines of a conference on Iraqi oil in London on Tuesday , “The Iraq pumped about 4.5 million barrels of oil a day at a time caused by such things as maintenance and power outages in production slowdown compared to the record level that was recorded in January , amounting to 4.78 million barrels a day. ”
He added Ameri, that” production slowed by the decision to halt production of 170 thousand barrels per day of Kirkuk crude and the impact of severe weather and maintenance work. ”
He said” there is a state volatility affects between 100 thousand and 200 thousand barrels per day in each month. ”
He noted that the power outage affects the production of between 50 thousand and 70 thousand barrels a day from southern Iraq. This contributes to the slowdown of Iraqi exports since the beginning of May.
Iraq is the second largest oil producer in OPEC after Saudi Arabia.
