Security researcher Qasim Al-Tamimi confirmed on Thursday that the Iraqi border with Syria is completely secure, as there will be no gaps for terrorism to pass through.
Al-Tamimi told Al-Maalouma, “Terrorism inside Syria did not come out of nowhere, but there is external Turkish-Zionist support to stir up the situation in Syria, as Turkey seeks to occupy some areas and annex them to its map, while the Zionist entity seeks to overthrow the Assad government.”
He added, “The tensions in Syria and the control of terrorism over some areas do not mean that the situation will continue for a long time, especially since there are simultaneous Syrian and Russian operations and support from some countries allied with Syria to ensure the elimination of terrorism.”
He said, “Iraq is fully vigilant and the security forces have imposed their control over the border strip and reinforced their points and are on full alert, which confirms that there are no loopholes that allow terrorism to expand its operations from Syria towards Iraq.”
