Follow-up – and babysit – The UN Security Council extended, the work of the UN mission to help Iraq / UNAMI / for another year.
A statement by the UN Mission in Iraq (UNAMI) and seen by “public opinion”, that “members of the UN Security Council decided unanimously to continue the work of the UN Mission in Iraq (UNAMI), in addition to the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations Nikolai Miladinov.”
He called on the UN Security Council, the Iraqi government to “do logistical support for the mission in coordination with the member states in the Council,” noting that the Council requested the Secretary-General to submit a report on the fulfillment of the mission and responsibilities of every three months.
The Council expressed “its intention to review the mission given every 12 months or before this period if the government requested it.”
