On Sunday, Representative Mustafa Sanad described the Ministry of Planning’s budget as a “container” for the Prime Minister, as a result of its allocations, which amounted to approximately 2 trillion dinars.
Sanad said in a publication seen by “Information” that “the budget of the Ministry of Planning is a focus for the Prime Minister (Mohamed Shiaa Al-Sudani),” adding that “7 trillion were not spent last year and the current year 2 trillion were allocated to the Ministry of Planning, and therefore there are 9 trillion dinars.” For this ministry.
He pointed out, saying, “They are betting on your foolishness. He tells you who is reading it. God made you think… you are wrong.”
Sanad’s publication came as a comment on the statement of the economic expert, Nabil Al-Marsoumi, in which he stated, “One of the strange things in the 2024 budget is that the investment allocations for the Ministry of Planning amount to 1.855 trillion dinars, even though the ministry does not have large investment projects that it is implementing. What is even stranger than that is that the investment allocations for the Ministry of Planning are in the budget.” 2023 was 7 trillion dinars, of which only 24 billion dinars were spent in 2024, with an implementation rate of only 1%!!!”
