(Baghdad: Al Furat News) President Barham Salih stressed, on Sunday, the importance of setting economic reform plans and supporting the private sector.
A statement by the Presidency of the Republic stated that “President Barham Salih received today, at the Peace Palace in Baghdad, Minister of Planning Khaled Battal Al-Najm,” indicating that “Saleh stressed the importance of the role of the Ministry of Planning in all its formations in drawing economic and social development strategies, and in particular setting reform plans and developing policies. According to economic changes, as well as developing human resources and conducting research and studies to determine priorities in implementing projects according to the citizens’ need for them.
The president pointed out, according to the statement, “the necessity to prepare plans and programs in the economic and social sectors, and to provide statistics and data related to the work of state institutions in carrying out the tasks entrusted to them,” stressing “the importance of reforming the public and private sectors and overcoming the difficulties that stand in front of this, and preparing programs to address and reduce The problems of unemployment and poverty. ”
The statement continued, “The president of the republic heard a briefing from the minister about the ministry’s workflow and the tasks it is undertaking, as well as its future plans to raise the level of performance of state institutions towards better results.”
