A political source revealed that, in light of the Democratic Party’s refusal to accept the nomination of Barham Salih for the presidency, the name of a new candidate for the position was proposed.
The source said, “The National Union will present the name of the leader of the party, Mullah Bakhtiar, as he is acceptable to the Kurdistan Democratic Party.”
He added that “the National Union will meet during the next week to resolve its issue regarding the current political movement regarding the formation and form of the next government.”
Earlier, the Democratic Party refused to accept the nomination of Barham Salih for the presidency of the Republic.
