Today, Saturday, the Organized Crime Directorate in Salah al-Din Governorate implemented a campaign to monitor the sale of foodstuffs and cars in Iraqi dinars.
The director of the Organized Crime Department in Samarra, Colonel Jamal Al-Shather, said in a press statement, followed by NRT Arabia: “This campaign was carried out according to the directives of the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari,” pointing out that “a force from the Anti-Organized Crime Department in Samarra conducted an inspection and obtained pledges.” Owners of electrical shops and car showrooms not to sell or buy in foreign currency, and to buy and sell in Iraqi currency only.
Al-Shather added, “They have been notified if electrical appliances are sold or purchased in dollars, and all legal measures will be taken against the violators.”
And he explained, “The security authorities in Balad district also carried out a major campaign for commercial and electrical markets and car showrooms to direct their owners to deal in Iraqi dinars only and not to deal in foreign currency, and this comes in support of the local currency against foreign currencies, and written pledges were taken to oblige everyone to do so and hold violators accountable according to the law.” .
