America continues to implement and achieve its plans inside Iraq through its ambassador in Baghdad, Elena Romanowski, or by exploiting any crack or gap to deepen it by supporting and arming the Kurds without returning to the federal government.
The US ambassador’s steps faced great criticism as a violation of diplomacy and international law, as she seeks through this to increase divisions and prepare for something suspicious in the future, especially since the situation has recently become tense between Baghdad and Erbil after the budget was approved, contrary to Barzani’s will.
A member of the Al-Fateh Alliance, Ali Al-Zubaidi, told Al-Maalouma, “The American ambassador is acting at the present time outside the diplomatic framework, as if she is the civil ruler of Iraq by intensifying meetings with Iraqi political and security officials.”
Al-Zubaidi added, “The ambassador’s job and tasks are specific, and it cannot reach the level of opening commercial centers or meeting with tribal sheikhs, ministers, and social and parliamentary figures, since these actions are outside the specific diplomatic contexts of ambassadors’ work.”
Al-Zubaidi pointed out that “the American moves in Iraq confirm that there is a program being worked on to be achieved inside Iraq, which necessitates taking quick measures to thwart any attempts aimed at destabilizing Iraq.”
On the other hand, the representative of the coordination framework, Jassim Al-Alawi, confirmed to Al-Maalouma, that “the central government is required to intervene to stop the file of the American arming of the region by following international diplomatic methods.”
Al-Alawi added, “The decision to arm is tantamount to interference in the internal affairs of the country, and work will be done to present the file to the higher political authorities in order to come up with a position to reject the agreement between Washington and the region, especially since it is contrary to international law.”
On the other hand, the security expert, Aqil Al-Taei, accused during his interview with Al-Maalouma, “America is trying to strengthen the Peshmerga at the expense of the central government by providing it with anti-air defense weapons, at a time when America prevented Iraq from adopting coherent air defenses in the field of confrontation or radar detection.” .
Al-Taei pointed out that “these attempts are very dangerous for Iraq, and the central government and parliament must declare a clear position on America’s continued violation of the country’s sovereignty.”
Yesterday, Saturday, the Iraqi Resistance Coordination vowed to respond to US policies, accusing the US embassy of playing a subversive role in Iraq by obstructing reconstruction projects and spreading unsound cultural ideas.
