Today, Monday, Member of Parliament Muhammad Al-Sayhoud revealed the latest details of the negotiations to withdraw American combat forces, while confirming that the government is negotiating with the United States of America on a final, not partial, exit from Iraq.
Al-Sayhoud said in an interview with the Maalouma Agency, “The targeting of military bases that occurred in the previous period inflicted heavy losses on the American forces,” criticizing “the statements of some political forces that create pretexts to keep America alive by raising the ISIS issue again.”
He continued, “The strikes of the Iraqi Islamic Resistance forced the United States of America to negotiate the withdrawal of its combat forces from the country,” noting that “the strikes resulted in Washington accepting the start of negotiations for a complete exit from Iraq.”
He added, “The joint committee negotiations seek to set a fixed timetable for the removal of American combat forces from military bases,” adding that “the government is negotiating a final, not partial, exit from Iraq.”
Many political and security circles criticized the statements made by the Kurdish leaders of the Kurdistan region about the presence of ISIS gangs in the Nineveh Plain and the areas surrounding the region, in an attempt to inflame the situation in conjunction with the government and parliament’s movements to remove American combat forces from the country.
