The Parliamentary Finance Committee announced, on Wednesday, that the 2020 budget will be returned to the government, suggesting the reason for making financial adjustments to it, while referring to the reduction of the estimated deficit in the current year’s budget.
The reporter of the Finance Committee, Ahmed Al-Saffar, said, according to government media, that “the 2020 budget was returned to the government upon its request after it reached the parliament,” suggesting the reasons “for making financial adjustments that lead to the issue of deficit, and may relate to clauses in job grades and others.”
And, that “the delay in the arrival of the budget to Parliament, was due to reducing spending close to two trillion, ie from 148-146, as well as reducing the deficit, which was 81 to 76.”
He pointed out that “the committee had planned to read the budget on Thursday a first reading, and next week a second reading, but after retrieval, approval may be delayed for two weeks.”
