Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his concerns on Thursday that US President-elect Donald Trump is still in an unsafe situation. Putin spoke at a press conference at the end of the Collective Security Treaty Organization summit in the Kazakh capital, Astana: “I was surprised that uncivilized methods of struggle were used against Trump, including an assassination attempt, more than once. By the way, in my opinion, he is still not safe.”
“There have been different cases in the history of the United States, but I think he is an experienced person, and I hope he will be more careful,” he explained.
The Russian president also criticized that “Trump’s family members and children were also attacked.”
The remarks came months after Trump was injured in his ear in an assassination attempt in Pennsylvania in July, which he survived.
In a separate incident in September, another man was charged with attempting to assassinate Trump after Secret Service agents discovered him hiding with a gun near Trump’s private golf course in Palm Beach. The defendant has denied the charges.
