Putin to Trump: We are ready for a ceasefire with Ukraine

Shafaq News/ Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on Monday the end of a phone call with his US counterpart, Donald Trump, after it lasted more than two hours .
Putin described the conversation with Trump as meaningful, frank, and very useful, expressing his gratitude to Trump for the United States’ participation in resuming direct talks between Russia and Ukraine .
Putin said, “Russia supports a cessation of hostilities, but it is necessary to develop the most effective paths toward peace,” noting that Trump expressed his position on ending hostilities in Ukraine during the conversation .
The Russian president affirmed that “Moscow is ready to work on a memorandum of understanding with Ukraine that includes a ceasefire,” noting the need to find compromises that suit all parties.
