Prime Minister: The price of the dollar will drop further and reach the official rate

Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani affirmed: “The price of the dollar will decrease further and reach the official rate,” noting: “The Iraqi dinar is strong and the financial situation is at its best.”
Al-Sudani said in a press interview: “The fluctuations in the exchange rates of the dollar are the result of the non-implementation of the agreement signed between the previous government and the Central Bank with the Federal Bank and the US Treasury.”
He added, “The agreement ended less than a month after we approached the government, and we assumed responsibility and adopted procedures to comply with the global banking system.”
And the Prime Minister continued: “Our trade is distorted because of money laundering and smuggling, in addition to the lack of reliability in the banking system.”
