Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani affirmed today, Tuesday, that Iraq’s entry into the global gas market will be implemented and that gas cannot continue to be burned.
Al-Sudani said in a speech during the signing ceremony of the fifth licensing round, which was followed by Al-Maalouma Agency, that “the delay in implementing the fifth licensing round for 5 years has caused Iraq great losses and unfortunate environmental damage.”
He added, “The trend towards investment in associated gas and natural gas stems from a firm conviction,” noting that “the signing of the fifth round comes as confirmation of the government program’s approach.”
