The Independent High Electoral Commission called on Tuesday, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi to postpone the date of holding the elections to September of next year.
An informed source said that the Independent High Electoral Commission asked Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, during its meeting with him on Monday, that the early elections be at the end of September 2021, instead of the sixth of June 2021.
He added that the commission requested the postponement to be fully Its readiness to hold the elections, pointing out that Al-Kazemi promised the commission to study its request and respond to the possibility of postponing or not.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi stressed, during today’s session of the Council of Ministers, that the Election Commission needs to support its efforts, overcome all obstacles to its needs from the ministries and spare it bureaucratic and routine procedures, in order to make its work a success.
He stressed his insistence that early elections be held on the previously announced date of June 6.
