Politician warns of US interference and reminds of Abdul-Mahdi’s government

Political analyst Ibrahim al-Sarraj saw, on Wednesday, that America continues its interference in the internal affairs of Iraq in various fields, at a time when its policies cannot be trusted after previous experiences and the problems it caused internally.
Al-Sarraj told Al-Maalouma, “American policy cannot be trusted, and the best evidence of that is what happened in 2019 when America directed and supported the overthrow of the government of Adel Abdul-Mahdi and achieved that, as that government did not fall by popular or constitutional will.”
He added, “The American interference is still present, and the government must be aware of that, especially since there are many moves and meetings by the American ambassador, Elena Romanowski, with many political and security figures, and even popular circles.”
And he indicated that “the large number of interventions and moves undertaken by the American ambassador to achieve her country’s goals in Iraq constitutes a violation of international and Iraqi laws, and is considered an unjustified interference in Iraqi internal affairs.”
