Political analyst Qassem Balshan saw, on Monday, that the political mood is not ready to pass important laws such as oil and gas, especially since there are differences regarding it between more than one political party.
Balshan told Al-Maalouma, “The political mood at the present time cannot come up with an important law that serves Iraq, especially since there are differences between the political parties over such laws, the most important of which is oil and gas.”
He added, “The Federal Court’s decision regarding the export of oil through the region and the authority over these exports represent binding decisions for all and cannot be violated, and therefore the proceeding with the oil and gas law should be appropriate and not contrary to the court’s decision.”
And that “the government, if it is directed towards making decisions and passing laws such as oil and gas, it will be hindered by some political parties seeking to pass their interests through making understandings with other parties, despite the existence of categorical and binding judicial decisions for all.”
