Politician calls on Al-Sudani to bring Al-Kadhimi to justice on corruption charges

On Monday, the leader of the Unified Anbar Alliance, Abdul Sattar al-Dulaimi, called on Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani to bring Mustafa al-Kadhimi to justice on charges related to corruption and squandering public money.
In a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency, Al-Dulaimi said, “Former Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, who returned to Iraq again, committed financial and administrative corruption in the Food Security Law, which was approved in inappropriate circumstances in the absence of the Coordination Framework, in addition to the absence of oversight committees due to the disruption of the work of Parliament, which raises many question marks about the mechanism for spending these funds.”
He added that Al-Kadhimi is responsible for wasting public money and sharing the budget of the Food Security Law with former Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halbousi, indicating that “the integrity committees are required to move Al-Kadhimi’s corruption files and refer him to the competent courts against the backdrop of the disappearance of huge sums of money from the state treasury during his tenure as Prime Minister and they were not investigated by the integrity committees due to partisan influences at the time.”
Finally, Al-Dulaimi stressed that “the Sudanese government is required to open the corruption files of the Al-Kadhimi government and refer those involved in financial corruption and waste of public money to the judiciary after indications were received that Al-Kadhimi’s team seized huge sums of money from the Food Security Law.”
