The Victory Coalition confirmed, today, Saturday, that most ministers failed to perform their duties due to lack of efficiency, stressing the necessity of carrying out a ministerial amendment despite its delay and the short period remaining in the government’s life.
“Many ministers have proven to have failed in their work, and most of them do not have the competence or ability to manage the ministries in detail. The ministerial reshuffle was supposed to take place 6 months after the government assumed its duties and based on an evaluation of the work, but the matter was delayed for reasons including local elections and other political circumstances and their interference,” coalition spokesman Salam al-Zubaidi told Al-Maalouma Agency.
He added, “Time may not be enough for the Prime Minister to make a ministerial change, especially in the sovereign portfolios, as the government’s term will end in less than a year. However, in general, the change must be made, at least in the ministries that have proven to be a failure.”
He pointed out that “the political blocs that have a share in the ministerial cabinet are the ones who will nominate the alternative to fill the position, and Al-Sudani may not find enough space to choose.”
It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani had previously announced his intention to make a ministerial change, while representatives confirmed that the change would include sovereign ministerial portfolios.
