The head of the Bayariq Al-Khair coalition, Mohammed Al-Khalidi, confirmed that the next 72 hours will witness a series of meetings of Sunni forces and dialogues to come up with a unified position to end the file of electing a Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Al-Khalidi told / Al-Maalouma / that “Salem Al-Issawi is the closest to the position due to the support of the majority for him, noting that he is a consensus candidate and has extensive experience in parliamentary work.”
He pointed out that “Sunni-Sunni consensus is unlikely so far, but there may be surprises that may resolve the file.”
It is noteworthy that Sunni-Sunni differences have hindered the resolution of the vote on a candidate for the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives for months.
