Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Saturday that an “atmosphere of distrust” prevails between Iran and America, while stressing that his country has no desire to possess any nuclear weapons and to allow inspectors to enter the country.
This came during an interview that Bershkian gave to the American channel “cbsnews”, on the program “Face the Nation” which is broadcast by the channel.
Pezeshkian added: “We are not trying to build any nuclear weapons and we will allow inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency to enter the country. It is difficult to hold a direct meeting with Trump in light of the atmosphere of distrust between Iran and the United States.”
The Iranian president warned that developing nuclear weapons is forbidden, stressing that even if some in Iran wanted to make a nuclear weapon, they are “religiously not allowed to take this path,” he said.
