It was not immediately clear the position of the parliament speaker of the request, but the House of Representatives enters the legislative holiday early next August.
Article 63 of the Iraqi Constitution states that a member of parliament may not be arrested during the term of the legislative term except with the consent of the members by an absolute majority to lift the immunity.
