Member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Representative Mudar Al-Karawi, spoke on Wednesday about the lack of time for his committee to approve the 2024 budget schedules.
Al-Karawi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, “The 2024 budget schedules officially reached the Finance Committee, which in turn held the first meeting in order to determine priorities and set a road map to proceed with the audit and determine its contents.”
He added, “The committee will add the Ministers of Finance and Planning during the next week or the following in order to clarify their position on several files, most notably current and investment expenditures and other paragraphs related to contracts and appointments in various state institutions.”
He pointed out that “the meetings of the Finance Committee will continue in order to resolve the study of the schedules,” pointing out that “the legislative recess of the House of Representatives will end on the 9th of next June, which means that we are facing a limited and very narrow period of time, and the recess may be extended if the file for reviewing the schedules is not completed within the weeks.” “The next one.”
