Committee member Mustafa Al-Karaawi told Shafaq News Agency, “Minister of Finance, Taif Sami, in her last visit to the Parliamentary Finance Committee, assured us that the budget law schedules are still with the Council of Ministers, and are expected to be sent soon to the House of Representatives.”

He added, “We are awaiting the arrival of the budget schedules in order to discuss and approve them in Parliament,” noting that “the Financial Supervision Bureau law stipulates that the government send the budget law schedules to the House of Representatives before the end of the fiscal year, but the year has ended and the government was very late and did not send the budget schedules.” To the Council.”

Al-Karaawi continued, “The budget law schedules are currently in the corridors of the Council of Ministers, and we do not know about their content or the date of sending them to Parliament.”

On June 12, 2023, the Iraqi Parliament approved the tripartite budget law for the years 2023, 2024, and 2025. Last year’s total budget amounted to 197 billion dinars, which is the largest in the country’s history.
