Shafaq News/ The Parliamentary Finance Committee revealed, on Tuesday, that transfers have been made and a reduction in the deficit percentage in the budget law, which is likely to be voted on at the end of this month.
Committee member Adnan Al-Zorfi told Shafaq News agency, “The Parliamentary Finance Committee hosted a number of ministers, officials, and governors to discuss the financial allocations that were granted to ministries, departments, and governorates in the budget law.”
He added, “The Parliamentary Finance Committee is currently working on making transfers and reducing the deficit in the budget law, which amounts to 64 trillion dinars.”
Al-Zorfi pointed out, “The budget law will be ready for voting during the next two weeks, and it will be included on the parliament’s agenda in the third week of this month.”
Yesterday, Monday, the “State Administration” coalition stressed, in a meeting attended by the prime ministers, representatives and all leaders of the coalition, the importance of approving the federal budget and launching government projects and programs, and announced on 10-5-2023 as a last resort to resolve discussions on budget items.
The Iraqi parliament is preparing to vote on the draft general budget law for the three years (2023-2024-2025) after completing the first and second readings of the draft.
