A member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Jamal Cougar, revealed, on Sunday, a parliamentary move to reduce the deficit percentage in the draft general budget law, explaining that the percentage of reduction has not been determined yet, but work continues on that before proceeding to pass the budget.
Cougar said in an interview with the information agency, “Determining the reduction of the deficit rate will be seen after completing the hosting that the Finance Committee is making now in order to review all the financial affairs of the ministries,” pointing out that “there is a parliamentary move to reduce the deficit rate in the draft general budget law.” .
And he added, “The rate of reduction has not been determined yet, but it will continue to do so during the coming period,” adding that “the percentage of reducing the budget deficit will take place before proceeding to pass it under the dome of Parliament.”
The deficit rate, according to the proposal of the draft general budget law that the government sent to Parliament, amounted to 63.275 trillion dinars, with the adoption of a price of $ 70 per barrel of oil, given that more than 95 percent of budget revenues depend on oil sales.
