Parliamentary Finance expects the federal budget schedules to arrive next week

Member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Representative Mudar Al-Karawi, suggested today, Saturday, that the federal budget schedules for the current year will arrive next week for discussion within the committee and then be presented to the House of Representatives for a vote.
Al-Karawi said in an interview conducted by the “Al-Ma’louma” correspondent, the text of which will be published at a later time, that “the 2024 budget tables will reach the Parliamentary Finance Committee next week, after which they will be discussed by the committee, but it is too early to talk about its provisions in detail.”
He added, “The Ministry of Finance is also awaiting Parliament’s approval of the schedules in order to launch financing for all governorate projects in accordance with the instructions.”
On the other hand, Al-Karawi pointed out that “there is remarkable progress in implementing automation, especially in the tax and customs departments,” noting that “implementing the system will contribute to reducing the routine of administrative procedures and closing 50% of the doors to corruption, in addition to being an effort to develop non-oil revenues for the Iraqi treasury.”
