A member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Representative Mudar Al-Karawi, confirmed, on Sunday, that there is no intention to return the 2023 budget to the government again.
Al-Karawi said, in an interview with Al-Maalouma, that “the 2023 budget has officially reached the Finance Committee from the Presidency of the House of Representatives,” noting that “its discussions will begin within the next two days.”
He added, “There is no intention to return the 2023 budget to the government again now,” pointing out that “the upcoming discussions will determine the criteria for dealing with it, especially since we have many big question marks about some of its paragraphs, especially the large deficit.”
He pointed out, “The 2023 budget cannot be described as flexible in light of the great complexities that exist, but we will try to find solutions that contribute to solving all problems and ensuring the rights of all segments.”
Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, announced the delivery of the 2023 budget to the Finance Committee.
