Parliamentary Finance discusses the decision to stop financial and banking transactions with KurdistanThe parliamentary Finance Committee announced on Saturday that it discussed with the Central Bank mechanisms to implement the decision to stop all financial and banking transactions with Kurdistan and not to sell foreign currency to banks operating in northern Iraq.

“The committee held a meeting with officials of the Central Bank to follow up mechanisms to implement the decisions issued by the parliament on the suspension of all financial and banking dealings with Kurdistan and the sale of foreign currency to banks operating in the provinces of Arbil, Simaniyah and Dohuk.”

He stressed that “the matter includes banks that have branches in the said provinces and their customers in order to maintain the reserve of the Central Bank of foreign currency and prevent leakage.”

He added that “the purpose of the meeting and hosting is to solve all the problems and obstacles to the implementation of the Central Bank of these decisions and to overcome them and proceed with those procedures.”
