Today, Thursday, the Parliamentary Finance Committee confirmed holding continuous meetings and meetings to write the budget report before submitting it for the second reading, and while clarifying the mechanisms for reviewing the project, it indicated that the new salary scale is still under study.
A member of the Finance Committee, Mustafa Al-Karawi, told the official agency, “After completing the first reading of the budget law, the Finance Committee began holding its meetings until completing writing the budget report and including it for the second reading.”
He explained, “The committee will implement a mechanism to reduce the deficit by studying the budget in detail and working to reduce expenditures in the operational as well as the investment budget, while studying the volume of loans and expenditures established in this section.”
He added, “The study of the budget will also relate to calculating oil and non-oil revenues, and on the basis of this, the total revenues will be determined after studying the items in detail.”
He pointed out, “The committee is obligated to expedite and intensify efforts in order to ripen the budget report, prepare notes, and present them to Parliament at the earliest session, which is hoped to be next week.”
He pointed out, “The degrees of deletion and creation are fixed in the operating budget, and some ministries have requested job degrees.”
And he added, “The issue of the salary scale is outside the budget and is still under study, because the issue is related to a special committee that was formed by Diwani Order No. 24 to study and re-evaluate the salary scale and distribute the amounts spent during the fiscal year.”
