Member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Moeen Al-Kadhimi, confirmed that the federal government violated the provisions of the law by delaying sending the budget tables to the Council of Representatives for voting on them.
Al-Kadhimi said in a statement to / Al-Maalouma /, that “the Prime Ministry does not have the real seriousness to send the current year’s budget tables to the Council of Representatives for voting and passing them.”
He added, “The government’s delay in sending the tables to the legislative authority represents a clear violation of the budget law, which stipulated that the government send them to Parliament in the tenth month of the previous year, but this did not happen.”
He explained that “more than eight months have passed of the current year without the government sending the budget tables to the Council of Representatives, which is a violation of the law and a lack of commitment by the executive authority.”
