The Parliamentary Finance Committee on Saturday held the federal government responsible for the delay in submitting the 2025 budget schedules to Parliament, stressing the government’s lack of seriousness in completing the budget and submitting it for legislation.
Committee member MP Moeen Al-Kadhimi told Al-Maalouma News Agency, “There is a real deficit in funding ongoing and new projects due to the failure to approve next year’s budget schedules.”
He added, “The government is still not serious about completing the 2025 budget schedules and sending them to Parliament for approval.”
He pointed out that “the funding of ministries and governorates is currently being done based on the funds available to the government, and this is incorrect, as most of the funding is based on existing tax revenues, which reflects the absence of proper planning.”
