The head of the Rights Movement and member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, MP Hussein Mounes, confirmed that Baghdad has fulfilled all its obligations towards Erbil, noting that the government violated the law by granting Kurdistan financial sums in the form of loans.
Mounes told Al-Maalouma, “The Kurdistan government has not changed since the fall of the late Saddam regime in 2003 and continues to exercise its authority and rule in the region through a blatant dictatorial approach. Five governments have changed in Iraq and the regional government remains in its position.”
He added, “The regional government is an expired government that has lost its legitimacy, and therefore, there is no point in clowning around financial dues and the budget, especially since the government in Baghdad has fulfilled all its legal obligations towards the region.”
He explained that “the federal government violated some laws by granting the regional government financial loans to manage the salaries of Kurdistan employees, despite the existence of data from the Ministry of Finance confirming that the region has received its budget in full.”
