Representative Suhaila Al-Sultani confirmed today, Sunday, that the budget schedules voted on by the Council of Ministers will go to the Parliamentary Finance Committee for the purpose of studying and voting on it within Parliament, revealing the period required for its passage.
Al-Sultani told Al-Maalouma that “the period of study of the budget schedules from all aspects and reasons within the Parliamentary Finance Committee will take a period of ten days to two weeks,” indicating that “it will be voted on once it is completed.”
She added, “The vote on the budget law was long overdue, as the legislative term within the House of Representatives was extended for the purpose of completing the budget schedules by the Council of Ministers and sending it to the House of Representatives for the purpose of voting on it.”
The Council of Ministers voted earlier, during an extraordinary session, on the schedules of the federal general budget for the year 2024 and referred them to the House of Representatives for approval.
