Member of the State of Law Coalition bloc, Muhannad Al-Khazraji, confirmed today, Thursday, that the 2025 budget tables have not reached Parliament, despite a long period having passed since the vote on Article (12A) related to the region’s oil, calling on the government to disclose or clarify the reasons for this delay.
Al-Khazraji said in a statement to / Al-Maalouma / agency, “After the House of Representatives voted to amend Article (12A) of the General Budget Law related to the region’s oil, the government did not send the budget tables for the current year, despite months having passed since the vote.”
He added, “The goal of preparing the three-year budget was to pass it smoothly without any delay, but this goal was not achieved,” calling on “the government to send the tables as soon as possible for approval in Parliament.”
It is noteworthy that a member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Representative Moeen Al-Kadhimi, had previously called on Al-Sudani’s government in a statement to / Al-Maalouma / agency to send the budget tables due to their importance in serving the interests of various segments of society, as well as securing the necessary funds for ongoing and new projects.
