Information / Baghdad..
On Tuesday, the deputy head of the National Sindh Bloc, Faleh al-Khazali, called on the government to take swift action to rein in the moves of US Ambassador Elena Romanowski.
Al-Khazali said in an interview with Al-Maalouma Agency, “What the Washington ambassador is doing in Iraq has nothing to do with her role as an ambassador,” pointing out that “the ambassador has gone beyond diplomatic norms and contexts.”
He added, “The ambassador is not entitled to work except in accordance with diplomatic laws and customs, and the government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs must assume its responsibilities towards her movements,” noting that “these moves have become open to everyone and are considered blatant interference in Iraq’s affairs and a clear violation of the charters and principles of international law.”
Earlier, the head of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, criticized the moves of the US ambassador to Iraq, Alina Romanowski, noting that those moves went beyond diplomatic agreements and norms.
