Parliamentary Services Committee member Madiha Al-Moussawi confirmed on Saturday that the government’s delay in submitting the amended budget schedules to the House of Representatives is unjustified and directly impacts the implementation of service projects.
Al-Moussawi told Al-Maalouma News Agency that “the delay in the budget schedules has had a direct impact on investment projects and private sector receivables, leading to a state of stagnation in the Iraqi market.”
She added, “The delay in submitting schedules is leading to a decline in investor confidence, prompting many local and foreign companies to freeze or postpone their development projects.”
She pointed out that “the delay in approving the budget schedules has had a negative impact on employees and citizens, as the Ministry of Finance has linked the implementation of many administrative and financial procedures to the approval of those schedules.”
