Today, Wednesday, a member of Parliament, Muhammad Karim, accused America of standing against arming the Iraqi army, while stressing that the previous government handed over the reins of power and administration to Washington during the last period.
Karim said in an interview with Al-Maalouma agency, “The new government did not give in to all the pressures exerted by the United States of America on Iraq in order to pass its own interests on the country,” noting that “Washington stands against the government’s efforts to develop the file of arming the Iraqi army.” .
He continued, “America only seeks to win deals from Iraq, while it stood by and watched during the war with the terrorist ISIS in the previous period,” noting that “the previous government handed over the reins of power and administration to Washington during the last period.”
And he added, “The Iraq policy that the government is currently pursuing is characterized by balance with all countries in order to pass all deals that are in the interest of the country.”
Political analyst Hussein Al-Kinani confirmed in a previous statement to Al-Maalouma, that “the United States is working to prevent Iraq from acquiring advanced weapons through armament contracts with Russia, China or European countries.”
