The second deputy speaker of Parliament, Bashir Al-Haddad, said today, Tuesday, that the legislative term does not end before the vote on the 2021 budget law.
Al-Haddad said in statements, that the House of Representatives has its legislative recess, and it continues in its current legislative chapter for failure to approve the draft budget bill, which was presented during the term, and therefore the legislative term does not end before the budget vote.
He added that “in the event that the budget is approved before the third of March, the holiday will be from the date of approval only, as the parliament will start a new legislative chapter, and the holiday cannot be compensated.”
Pointing out that “the format of the council’s sessions will be according to the measures taken by the Supreme Committee for National Health and Safety and the Parliamentary Crisis Cell, with full commitment to preventive measures.”
