Confirmed the Foreign Relations Committee parliamentary no objection to the decision to land border demarcation between Iraq and Kuwait, according to UN Security Council Resolution No. 833 binding to Iraq, indicating that the Commission sent a request two days ago to host the stakeholders in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss the issue of Iraqi people affected by the implementation of the resolution.

Rapporteur of the Committee said Adela Hammoud “There is no objection to the decision to demarcate the border with Kuwait on account internationalist decision binding for Iraq, but the Commission has sent a request to host two days before the concerned Iraqi Foreign Ministry to discuss the issue of Iraqis affected by the demarcation of the border and the possibility of compensation.”

Hammoud said that “concerned at the State Department are setting a date for their attendance to the Commission for the purpose of position statement on compensation for those affected by the border demarcation decision and private farms after the Council of Ministers decided yesterday compensate the houses.”

The Cabinet decided yesterday at its special compensation for those affected by the border demarcation decision with Kuwait in the amount of 240 million dinars for each residential unit. The government denied the existence of any new agreement between the Iraqi and Kuwaiti government on the demarcation of the border, and what is happening recently is the maintenance of border pillars, which fall within the application of UN Security Council Resolution No. 833 binding to Iraq.

And criticized by some political blocs and the local administration in the province of Basra demarcation of the border between Iraq and Kuwait, while some politicians demanded an emergency session of the House of Representatives to discuss the issue.
